META MIND GLOBAL CORPORATION

EXPERTISE

WATER & SANITATION

MMGC provides a wide spectrum of specialized services catered to the water sector. We have an extensive water project portfolio in Southeast Asia, especially in HCMC, Vietnam.

MMGC's CEO, Mr. Vishal Currie was project director leading the ICT project under a United States grant for Vietnam from 2013 to 2016. He was tasked with responsibility of developing a Master Plan to renew the technology infrastructure and operational assets of the Saigon Water Corporation (SAWACO) which is an urban water supply network for the ten million residents of the city of Ho Chi Minh. The digital transformation blueprint for technology infrastructure was designed into four phases with plant & operations,  business applications, enterprise and support.

This successful ICT project for SAWACO was a Technical Assistance sponsored by USTDA. Learn more at TA for The Water Supply Network of HCMC.

MMGC provides the full gamut of services from project inception to project completion; including project identification, case study, pre-investment and strategic studies, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, technical assistance, conceptual and detailed designs as well as construction supervision for large-scale water supply network development projects.

Besides, MMGC also offers specialized services in Water sector, including but not limited to:

GIS Mapping and Hydrological Modelling

MMGC operates a fulltime team of GIS experts, as well as a team of GIS field technicians, who are equipped with the latest GPS devices to ensure the highest level of accuracy.

GIS is very powerful for addressing different water resources issues such as water quality, ground water movement, ground water contamination, river restoration, flood prediction and management... on a local, regional, national or even global scale. GIS could be used for different approaches such as analyzing the current situation, modeling and stimulating different scenarios for predicting the future, projecting new information, and enhancing decision making and watershed management.

Hydrological Modeling creates simplified conceptual models (mainly empirical mathematical equations that describe a phenomenon or a physical process) of a part of the hydrological cycle. Surface hydrology (surface water hydrology) is one of the most important domains of the hydrologic cycle which refers to all the surface waters of the globe: rivers, lakes, wetlands, estuaries, seas, oceans...

SCADA Systems Implementation

The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems are the backbones for monitoring and supervising water distribution systems and water treatment plants. Utilizing the SCADA system to its fullest is the best way for water companies to leverage existing infrastructure and available resources. A major advantage of SCADA systems is that security measures are coordinated with operations. A SCADA system linked to perimeter monitoring devices can either significantly reduce or eliminate the need for manned patrols.

Water Resource Management

Water Resources Management (WRM) is the process of planning, developing, and managing water resources, in terms of both water quantity and quality, across all water uses. It includes the institutions, infrastructure, incentives, and information systems that support and guide water management. There are four central components of integrated water resource management: stormwater management, wastewater treatment, water supply, and conservation of existing water sources.

Sanitation and Wastewater Management

Sanitation is the hygienic means of preventing human contact from the hazards of wastes to promote health.

Wastewater is any water that has been adversely affected in quality by anthropogenic influence and comprises liquid waste discharged by domestic residences, commercial properties, industry, and/or agriculture and can encompass a wide range of potential contaminants and concentrations.

Wastewater is treated in 3 phases: primary (solid removal), secondary (bacterial decomposition), and tertiary (extra filtration).

Irrigation and Drainage

Irrigation and drainage can improve or degrade ecosystems and the environment. Problems associated with irrigated agriculture include erosion, sedimentation of surface waters, chemical and nutrient contamination of water supplies, and salinization.

We focus on implementing the SCADA systems to improve the decision process and action of applying a chosen depth of irrigation water using a chosen application method at a chosen time to achieve defined agronomic and economic objectives.

Reverse Osmosis (RO) / Desalination

Reverse osmosis is a process that makes it possible to filter salt and other impurities from seawater, which is also called desalination. Reverse osmosis takes place when we apply pressure to a highly concentrated solution, which causes the solvent to pass through a semipermeable membrane to the lower concentrated solution. This leaves behind a higher concentration of solute on one side, and pure solvent on the other.
